still the same sky
a poetry book by anna bentham
about the book
still the same sky
Just as the sun rises and sets each day, and the ocean washes up hidden treasures from its depths, poetry collects my days into pages and brings up the feelings that are hard to say out loud. It is therapy, both in spirit and reality.
I write for people, not to give voice to my worries and thoughts but to share what others have to say in a way that lets anyone relate.
Still the Same Sky, at it’s bones, is a book about how even though we don’t all see eye to eye or get along with one another, we are still all looking up at the same sky. No matter where you are in the world, or what your situation is, the sky is the same for everyone.

about the author
Anna Bentham, Canadian teen poet, has loved books from the moment she could chew on them. As an avid learner and listener, she has taken every opportunity to explore the world, near and far, and challenge herself to think outside the box. From experimenting in the kitchen to picking hooves at the barn, wandering through museums to spending time with friends, Anna looks for joy in the little things.
still the same sky is the first book she has published.
featured poem
that’s not really a story, more like a memory
keepsakes litter the bottom of the ripped-apart desk
moments of memories of mundane activities
which turned into adventures
that led to castles of gold
spun from a fairytale
imagining
all the clouds in the sky couldn’t begin
to capture
the story
of who we were
and who we will be
